So yesterday, the destination was Birmingham Education Show 2015.
This takes place in one of the halls of the NEC and is quite different to the BETT experience – classroom resources varying from suppliers of felt tip pens to fabulous playground set ups, publishers, dustbins, technology, games both old and new fashioned. I couldn’t resist taking some time out to play with a great crested gecko (at least I think that’s what he was) at the Animal Man’s stand. I wasn’t quite brave enough to pick up the tarantula!
We spent some time talking with team at the Night Zookeeper, a wonderful classroom resource encouraging children to write, play and generally get involved in a wonderful magical animal universe. Loads of fun and a great confidence builder: we were very impressed! Josh, one of their founders told us about their World Creative Writing Month, getting children to write as much as possible during the month of March. They have set a target of a million words; at time of writing this blog, they were on 750,330. Sign your class up!!
We had the opportunity to chat with Scholastic, which was very exciting. Also met and talked with some teachers and head teachers at UK and international primary schools who agreed to trial “Mr Glue for Schools” in their schools, which was great news….By the way, please do let us know if you would like us to contact your school as we’re keen to work with primary schools all over the country … and we’re offering it for free for a limited period of time! Contact us as firstname.lastname@example.org.
Went home feeling pretty exhausted, but felt that it was a day very well spent!
